Core Programs
How We Show Up for Our Community
Our work is organized to address the most urgent needs facing immigrant families in Connecticut.

Workshops and Legal Clinics
Knowledge is power, and understanding one’s rights and knowing how to respond in difficult situations can make all the difference. Our workshops equip community members — both individuals and businesses — with vital information and preparation to face immigration enforcement. They provide clear information, foster resilience, and strengthen communities before a crisis arises.
- Emergency detention response within 24 hours
- Removal defense representation in court
- Appeals and motions to reopen cases
- Asylum application support

Keeping Families Together
When families are separated by detention or deportation, we mobilize to help them navigate the legal system. We work with attorneys, bond funds, and community partners to reunite parents with children as quickly as possible.
- Rapid response for ICE detention cases
- Bond fund navigation and community fundraising
- Family separation legal advocacy
- Support services for children in schools

No One Goes to Court Alone
Facing immigration court is terrifying — but no one should have to do it alone. Our trained volunteers accompany community members to their hearings, providing emotional support, helping them navigate the courthouse, and ensuring they feel prepared and supported every step of the way.
- Trained volunteers attend hearings alongside clients
- Pre-hearing preparation and courthouse navigation
- Emotional support before, during & after hearings
- Follow-up support after court dates
- 70+ accompaniments completed to date

Know Your Rights Workshops
Understanding your rights is the first line of defense. Our Know Your Rights Workshops educate immigrant community members — individuals, families, and local businesses — on how to safely and confidently respond to immigration enforcement. Held in schools, churches, community centers across Connecticut, these sessions build confidence and community resilience.
- What to do if ICE comes to your home or workplace
- Your right to remain silent and request an attorney
- How to create a family safety plan
- Workshops offered in English, Spanish & Portuguese
- Tailored sessions for businesses and employers
- Available for schools, churches & community groups

Family Preparedness Clinics
Family Preparedness Clinics help at-risk families plan for unexpected separations. They provide guidance on completing essential legal documents such as Standby Guardian designations, ensuring that children can be cared for by a trusted adult. Clinics also support families in organizing critical information. By preparing in advance, families gain peace of mind and communities become stronger and more resilient.
- Standby Guardian designation guidance
- Help organizing critical family documents
- Planning for unexpected parent-child separations
- Step-by-step support from trained volunteers
- Available in English, Spanish & Portuguese
- Confidential one-on-one and group clinic formats

Red Folder Clinics
Red Folder Clinics help individuals at risk of detention gather and organize important documents that may support release on bond if they are detained. Materials such as proof of identity, community ties, and financial information are compiled and stored securely in a designated Red Folder, which can be shared with trusted contacts. With guidance from trained volunteers, participants leave prepared with the documentation needed to make a stronger case for release if detention occurs.
- Compiling proof of identity, community ties & financial records
- Documents securely organized in a designated Red Folder

Our volunteer network tracks and verifies reports of ICE activity in Danbury and surrounding areas. Verified alerts are distributed to community members via text, social media, and partner organizations.
- Real-time ICE activity alerts sent directly to community members
